# BalanceTab — Terms of Service

_Effective 2026-04-25._

By creating a BalanceTab account or using BalanceTab as a guest, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please do not use the service.

## 1. Service description

BalanceTab is a free shared-expense, time-tracking and family-rewards application provided by [Provider name] ("we", "us"). Core features:
- Group ledgers (money / hours / days / points polymorphic)
- Validations, debt simplification, archives, exports
- Kids-points (parent-managed reward system)
- Triple-archive notifications (in-app + email + WhatsApp)
- Cross-app activity grants from Games and Memoriz

We may add or remove features. Substantial changes get a 14-day notice.

## 2. Eligibility

- **You must be 16+** to create your own account.
- **Children under 16** can only join through a parent/guardian who has completed the in-app parental consent flow. The parent is responsible for the child's use.
- **Banned regions**: jurisdictions under US/EU sanctions lists.

## 3. Account responsibility

- You must provide accurate information and keep your password safe.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account until you sign out or revoke a session.
- Notify us immediately at security@learnature-ly.com if you suspect compromise.

## 4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use BalanceTab to:
- **Defraud** — record sham transactions, gaming the kids-points system, abusing the redemption flow.
- **Infringe** — store content you don't have rights to (file names, descriptions, attachments).
- **Harass** — send threatening notes via redemption requests, sibling gifts, or invitations.
- **Spam** — mass-invite people you don't know, abuse the WhatsApp deep-link feature.
- **Reverse-engineer** the service to build a competing product.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these rules. We log all moderation actions in your audit trail and you can dispute via support@learnature-ly.com.

## 5. Money and rewards — important caveats

- **BalanceTab is a ledger, not a payment processor.** Money never moves through our servers. Payment deep-links (Venmo, Revolut, Wise, PayPal, SEPA) launch your existing apps. We do not process the actual transfer.
- **Pocket-money rewards** — when a parent approves a "pocket money" redemption, our system debits the kid's points and records the agreement. The actual cash hand-over happens between you offline.
- **Sadaqa donations** — when a kid converts points to a charity donation, the parent is responsible for actually donating. We log the commitment in the audit trail.
- **Time / hours / days** — same. The unit accounting is yours; physical handover (paid invoice, completed chore) is yours.
- **Never devalue rule** — once a parent publishes a reward, its price is **locked for 30 days**. The price-lock auto-extends on every parent edit. Kids can rely on the published price during this window.

## 6. Kids-points

- Parents (group owner/admin) configure: rewards catalog, paliers (point thresholds), conversion modes, max-per-period throttles.
- Kids submit redemption requests; parents approve, counter-offer or deny within 7 days (else the request expires).
- We **do not** force conversion. Religious-acts points (Quran, dhikr, prayer streaks) are tagged in their provenance — parents see the breakdown and decide. Our system never auto-converts deeds-points to cash.
- Sibling gifts have a hard cap of 10,000 points per gift to prevent abuse.

## 7. Triple-archive notifications

By using BalanceTab you accept that **every** invitation, palier crossing, redemption decision and sibling gift is:
- Stored in `bt_notification_archive` (your in-app Inbox).
- Sent (or queued) to your email if you have one.
- Sent via WhatsApp:
  - **Twilio (if configured)**: automatic send. Standard Twilio SMS/WA pricing applies to the Operator, not to you.
  - **wa.me deep-link (default)**: a clickable link with pre-filled text. **Nothing is sent until you click.** Your standard WhatsApp data charges may apply.

You can opt out of email and WhatsApp at any time in notification preferences. The DB archive always exists for accountability.

## 8. Free tier and pricing

- BalanceTab core (groups, transactions, balances, time-currency, kids-points, triple-archive) is **free, with no per-kid pricing, no daily limits, no ad cooldowns**.
- Optional premium features may be added in the future. We will not retroactively make a free feature paid.

## 9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time via the app (`DELETE /me`). We retain a tombstone for 30 days for legal/audit reasons, then purge. Group data persists if other members remain; you are removed from member lists.

We may terminate accounts that violate these terms with notice (except for severe abuse, where we may act immediately).

## 10. Disclaimers

- **As-is**. We make best-effort to keep the service running but offer no guarantees of availability.
- **Beta**. Early features may have bugs. Report at support@learnature-ly.com.
- **Backups**. We do weekly DB backups but you should export your data periodically for your own peace of mind.
- **No financial advice.** Balance numbers reflect what you entered, not legal claims.

## 11. Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability is capped at €50 per affected user. We are not liable for:
- Money you give based on a BalanceTab balance.
- Notifications you missed (the in-app archive is the source of truth).
- Settlement disagreements between members (we are a ledger, not a court).

This limit does not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct.

## 12. Governing law

Governed by [jurisdiction to fill]. EU users keep all GDPR rights. Disputes resolved by [arbitration body or local courts].
